The Global Travel Group – History
Established in 1992, The Global Travel Group was formed to offer independent travel businesses the opportunity to start up without the need for expensive bonding. This
provides our agents with the capability to compete with the larger high street multiples and now more recently, the Internet. The Group has a proven business model with an impeccable reputation within the market.
The Group has grown rapidly, particularly over the last 2-3 years, launching a number of exclusive products including an in-house accommodation provider, flight consolidator and tour operation allowing members to package holidays safely and legally with full ATOL bonding.
Technology has played a major part in the Group’s success resulting in numerous awards including Best Use of Technology, National Business Awards Technology Innovation and Business of the Year Regional Finalist, 2004 & 2005 Achievement Wales Business Award Winners – E-commerce Solutions and 2005 Travel Industry Golden Globe Award Winners for Innovation – E-commerce Solutions.
Today with over over 800 members, the Group maintains an excellent reputation in the industry for providing a low cost solution for those wishing to start their own business venture in the exciting travel marketplace.
Triton Travel Group
In October 2005, the Triton Travel Group was formed - a commercial partnership between The Global Travel Group and two other leading travel consortia (Advantage and Worldchoice) to maximize the economies of scale and generate greater buying power for the collective members of the three consortia, which is actually in excess of 2,300 nationwide members.
The Triton Travel Group is the largest independent travel group in the UK and has the secured the best commercial terms for its members, in addition to it own product supply. The future is bright for The Global Travel Group and indeed the Triton Travel Group as many exciting initiatives and advancements come to fruition from the recent formation.
